Below you can find the most frequently asked questions and their answers regarding membership in the Republican Union of Azerbaijan State Institutions and Public Service Workers Trade Unions, your rights, social packages, and fields of activity.

To protect the labor, social, economic rights and legitimate interests of employees, retirees, and students, individuals have the right to voluntarily create a trade union with at least 7 people on their own initiative and without prior permission, unite in the respective trade union organization of their own accord, and adopt its charter.

Employees, retirees, and students have the right to join trade unions voluntarily, on their own initiative and without prior permission, in order to protect their legitimate interests as well as their labor, social, and economic rights.

Pursuant to Article 3 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Trade Unions", persons on military service in the Republic of Azerbaijan are not permitted to unite in trade unions.

Occupational safety refers to a system of technical safety, sanitation, and hygiene measures, norms, and standards provided for in the Labor Code and other normative legal acts, as well as in collective agreements, contracts, and employment agreements, aimed at ensuring the right of employees to work in safe and healthy conditions. Creating a healthy and safe working environment for the employee is the duty of the employer. When fulfilling this duty, existing normative legal acts in the field of occupational safety must be taken into account.

  • To study, master, and comply with the safety, hygiene, and fire protection requirements provided for in relevant normative acts on occupational safety;

  • To perform labor functions provided that it does not expose oneself and other employees to danger, and not to work on installations, machine tools, explosion sources, and other life-threatening sources without personal authorization;

  • To work in provided special clothing and footwear, and to use personal and collective protection equipment stipulated in the technological process, occupational safety norms, rules, and instructions;

  • To immediately inform the employer's representatives about all violations of occupational safety rules, as well as accidents and incidents;

  • Regularly improve knowledge on occupational safety norms and rules;

  • Comply with the instructions, advice, and recommendations of the employer, workplace supervisor, and specialists regarding occupational safety issues.

Trade unions exercise public control over occupational safety norms and rules established by the Labor Code and other existing normative legal acts in this field. Trade unions participate in the investigation of industrial accidents, as well as in inspections aimed at improving occupational safety. When occupational safety requirements are violated at the workplace or when industrial accidents are concealed, trade unions can raise the issue before state authorities to bring the guilty parties to justice, as well as before the body exercising state control over workplaces where materials, technical, and technological means harmful to employees' health are applied.

An introductory briefing is a training program reflecting safety rules in the workplace. The employer is obligated to prepare an introductory briefing program on occupational safety in accordance with the working conditions. Regardless of their position, employees must familiarize themselves with the introductory briefing program prepared by the employer before starting work and sign the logbook confirming their familiarity with this briefing.

Safety and health rules in the workplace, rules for the safe use of equipment, fire safety, rules of conduct in emergency situations, rules for the use of personal protective equipment, and rules of sanitation and hygiene in the workplace should be detailed in the introductory briefing program. Occupational safety instructions must be prepared in accordance with the activities of the workplaces.

The most basic conditions for employee safety in the production sector:

  • Prioritizing the life and health of the employee over the results of the enterprise's production activities;

  • Exercising independent and effective control over the fulfillment of occupational safety requirements;

  • Free provision of special clothing and footwear, other personal protective equipment, and medical-prophylactic nutrition to employees;

  • Mandatory investigation, registration, and analysis of every industrial accident that has occurred, and based on this, providing employees with accurate information on the state of industrial injuries, damages, and occupational diseases;

  • Regular improvement of occupational safety norms;

  • Social, material, and moral protection of the interests of employees who have suffered from industrial accidents or contracted occupational diseases;

  • Safety at work is the result of efficient activity!

Applications are made exclusively via the "e-ahik.az" Sanatorium-Resort Electronic Reservation Platform. When applying, the enterprise, duration of stay, type of voucher (free or partially paid), and contact details must be specified. Applications must be submitted no earlier than 15 days and no later than 105 days before the planned departure date.

Sanatorium-resort vouchers are granted only to the following persons:

  1. Trade union members;

  2. Social insurance payers;

  3. Pensioners (those receiving pensions based on age, disability, or loss of the breadwinner).

The duration of stay in recreation centers is a maximum of 6 nights and 7 days. For sanatoriums of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, 7-day and 14-day treatment packages are offered. The choice is yours, dear applicants!

No. Concessionary vouchers are provided only once per calendar year.

Free vouchers are intended for socially sensitive categories of persons, and in this case, no payment is made by the applicant. In partially paid vouchers, 15% of the voucher value is paid by the applicant.

Recreation and treatment centers belonging to the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, as well as those cooperating with ATUC, have been integrated into the "e-ahik.az" system. Information about available empty rooms is entered directly into the system by the hotels. If the system does not show information about the sanatorium or recreation center the citizen wants to visit on the chosen dates, it is due to the lack of available vacancies there on those dates.

  • Identity card;

  • Sanatorium-resort card or medical certificate (Form 72) for treatment-purpose vouchers;

  • If there is a right to apply for a free voucher - a document confirming this right;

  • Electronic certificate regarding employment or pensioner status.

Private sanatoria and recreation centers allocate only a certain number of rooms within the framework of cooperation with the Confederation. The remaining rooms are intended for direct sale by the hotel. If the system indicates that there are no vacant rooms at the hotel, it means that the places allocated for trade unions for that facility are already full. However, this does not mean that the hotel is completely full overall, as rooms intended for direct sale by the hotel may also exist. It should be noted that the real-time registration-integration process of recreation and treatment centers belonging to the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, as well as those cooperating with it, into the "e-ahik.az" system is fully ensured.

Up to 2 children under 12 years of age on the date of entry of the applicant to the recreation institution are provided with a free bed and meals. Full payment is required for other children under 12 and those over 12 years of age.

Payments are made cashless exclusively through the "e-ahik.az" platform.

Yes, they can. However, at full cost.

A new application is possible only at least 6 months after the entry date to the treatment or recreation center under the previous voucher.

Yes, it is possible to re-apply after receiving a rejection notice for the application.

You can track the status of your application from your personal account on the "e-ahik.az" platform.

Your failure to use the voucher issued to you due to personal reasons does not create the right to re-apply in the same year. A new application is possible in the next year, at least 6 months after the date of the voucher you did not use in the current year.

The expiration of 6 months from the usage date of last year gives you the right to apply in the current year. Your registered application is reviewed based on the priority principle in accordance with existing rules.

No. The right to use the voucher belongs to the person themselves, and this right cannot be transferred to another person.

Yes, they can, but the funds paid by the applicant are not refunded.

No, applications are made exclusively through the "e-ahik.az" platform.

If the application has not been answered, you can cancel it and re-apply.

No, family member data must be entered during the application.

No, the parent as the main applicant must also enter their child's information.

Pursuant to Article 1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Trade Unions", students can voluntarily unite or join trade unions based on the principle of individual membership at the workplace, professions, sectors, and at the republican level to protect their labor, social, and economic rights and legitimate interests.

The AHİK+ platform is a digital application created and launched for members of trade union organizations. That means only members of trade union organizations can use the AHİK+ program. This application enables trade union organization members to benefit from discounts provided by social partner enterprises.

Members of trade union organizations can register on the AHİK+ platform, familiarize themselves with the discounts provided by social partner enterprises with various service networks, and utilize the service they want to use by activating it via the QR code provided by the platform in an automated mode. The discount is activated only after the QR code provided to trade union members by the AHİK+ platform is scanned at the social partner enterprise.

Data collected regarding all members and social partner enterprises on the AHİK+ platform is protected in accordance with the "Requirements for the Protection of Personal Data" approved by the Resolution No. 161 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 6, 2010.

Social partner enterprises must register on the AHİK+ platform and add their services, service networks, branches, and discounts provided for the respective service. Social partner enterprises are considered participants of the program after registering on the platform, reaching a relevant agreement with AHİK, and formalizing this agreement.

Based on the agreement concluded with social partner enterprises, discounts are applied only to the goods or services specified in the agreement. Discounts cannot be requested for goods or services not specified in the agreement.

The rates of discount percentages are determined based on the agreement concluded with social partner enterprises, and their rates vary depending on the goods, services, and branches of the social partner enterprises.

The QR code must be used within 30 seconds after its activation. If the QR code is not used within this period, the relevant actions to re-activate the QR code must be carried out once again by the user.

The QR code is linked to the personal account of trade union organization members on the AHİK+ platform and is intended for use only by the member registered on the respective platform.

Members of trade union organizations can use the AHİK+ program an unlimited number of times during the day.

The AHİK+ program is not intended for use in online shopping.

Only members of trade union organizations can use the AHİK+ program. If you want to benefit from the AHİK+ program, you must join a trade union organization. You can apply to the trade union organization operating in the enterprise where you work or study. If a trade union organization does not operate in the enterprise where you work, at least seven employees can together create a trade union and voluntarily unite in the respective trade union organization and adopt its charter.
